Covid-19 Management

Standard Operating Procedures

At Gaia we take the health and safety of our children and staff very seriously and it is our TOP priority given that we are in the midst of a global pandemic.

We are taking all the necessary precautionary measures to ensure that our school building, facilities, and surroundings are cleaned, sanitised and safe, at all times. Our staff strictly follows the WHO recommended safety standards and health guidelines.

The following SOPs are strictly followed on a daily basis:

  • All contact surfaces are sanitised every morning before school opens
  • Upon entry all staff is checked for temperature and their hands sanitized
  • Staff is strictly instructed to wear their face masks at all times
  • Our staff is provided with surgical, disposable, 3-ply face masks
  • Children are dropped off at the gate and parents are NOT allowed inside
  • Parents are NOT allowed to wait outside the gate and are required to social distance at all times
  • Upon entry children are first checked for temperature and then their hands are sanitised
  • They are then made to leave their footwear at the gate (as always) and escorted inside
  • Children are encouraged to wash their hands at regular intervals
  • Every effort is made towards maintaining social distance amongst children at all times
  • Parents must NOT send their children to school if they have a cold or any flu like symptoms
  • Parents must pick up their children ON TIME to avoid crowding before the next shift begins
  • All contact surfaces are sanitised every afternoon once school closes for the day
  • Toys, books, and other teaching aids used for one session are NOT reused for the next

Deep Cleaning & Maintenance

The school premises are deep cleaned on a quarterly basis.

  • Entry/exit gate is washed and sanitised

Covid-19 Support

Gaia has a very supportive and involved community of doctor parents (and grandparents) who are in constant touch with the school administration and advising us every step of the way on the necessary precautions to be taken to tackle the pandemic situation. We seek their guidance and direction before taking any big decisions regarding school operations and are very grateful for their wise counsel
