CHILDREN MUST BE TAUGHT HOW TO THINK, NOT WHAT TO THINK.
Gaia strongly believes that young children learn effortlessly when presented with the right material and information at the right time. Taking advantage of their natural hunger to explore, construct and accomplish, and based on research of several years, Gaia provides a strong academic base in language, math and science. The curriculum has been designed to make children feel triumphant and confident. Gaia combines indigenous and imported programmes to foster well-developed skills in mathematics, reading and writing and incorporates a solid foundation in science and arts.
The Gaia curriculum allows children to explore a wide variety of games. Playing with and against adults and peers, they move from simple to more complex card and board games that invoke strategic and logical thinking. Children participate in physical and team sports that encourage healthy competition and an understanding of strengths and potential. Exercises on the romp & roll gym, trampoline, obstacle race and outdoor games help develop gross motor skills involving coordination, agility, balance, and speed.
The curriculum also enables children to strengthen individual talents and to connect classroom experiences with the outside world. Since children reflect on what they have learnt they develop a love and joy for learning that is vital.
